French Distance Learning Pack (Personal Information)
Useful for cover, home learning, starter activities, revision or homework. **No prep’! This resource can stand alone and be accessed by learners independently. **
This 47 page distance learning pack is based on vocabulary from Studio 1 Unit 1, personal information: animaux/araignées/capoeira/chats/chiens/cinéma/consoles de jeux/danse/foot/gâteaux/opinions/hair/eyes/personality…) but would work well as a stand-alone resource as well.
Here’s a summary of what you get:
A 47 page booklet which includes the
vocabulary list.
Reading, writing and comprehension tasks – see the contents page in the files section.

French Classroom Signs
Thirty two target language signs to print and laminate to display to encourage French speaking in the classroom. Sixteen student phrases/questions and sixteen teacher instructions. Includes two sheets with each of the sixteen grouped on them in case you don’t have room on your wall: you could print student copies instead.
An Easter card game plus further activities. Using personal/basic information plus Easter words thrown in, you may get away with using this in your lessons to bring in Easter vocabulary! A card game gets you started and further activities for reading/writing/speaking are explained on the last sheet.
Looking for GCSE French jobs consolidation? This is a great work booklet to develop listening, reading and writing. Tasks include picture and word matching vocabulary presentation, puzzles, reading comprehensions, scaffolded writing, a couple of listening activities and independent writing tasks with cues.
If you have introduced GCSE learners to the French jobs topic, this is the ideal resource for you. You can use it to consolidate prior learning. If you haven’t taught the topic, use this resource for them to work out or deduce the vocabulary themselves.
Although prior knowledge is assumed, a long bilingual vocabulary list is included to help. Some research on vocabulary and structures might be needed, depending on the ability of your learners.

The jobs/les emplois topic in French is consolidated with jobs vocab’ presented through picture and word matching, puzzles, * reading comprehensions*, scaffolded writing, independent writing tasks with cues. It goes well with Studio 3, Module 3, although supplementary vocabulary is included, and includes a PowerPoint and PDF version.
If you have introduced learners to the French jobs topic, this is the ideal resource for you. You can use it to consolidate prior learning. If you haven’t taught the topic, use this resource for them to work out or deduce the vocabulary themselves.
The resource works around ‘Les Emplois’ and introduces vocabulary beginning with simple picture and word matching, moving steadily through reading tasks, guided writing tasks and ending with independent writing.
Although prior knowledge is assumed, a three page vocabulary list is included to help. Some research on vocabulary and structures might be needed, depending on the ability of your learners. The work booklet can be used by you with learners in the classroom or by the learners if they are distance learning.
The answer pages are given after the main work packet and therefore may be printed separately or given when needed, rather than in one go to learners. Sample answers are given for writing tasks since, as I’m sure you will understand, responses can vary considerably.
A black and white version is included.
Other uses for the packet included using the sheets separately for starter tasks or cover lessons, even homework.
Further study could include a research project about part-time jobs of French youths.

Wall display for classroom language. May print smaller into booklets but not tried. Each A4 page is either a pupil question to the teacher or a teacher instrucion.
A group work activity. Groups of six. No preparation, everything is ready to print. Only a _teeny-tiny_ bit of cutting up to do on the reading out loud bit! Each group has a sign - fold in half and display on each table. Explain each table before you start to the group and give strict time limits to start/finish/move round. I've done this with quite low ability groups and they love it. Dice required! If you don't have lovely, quiet, sponge ones, try a sandwich bag with cards with numbers on (could even be in French!) and they shut their eyes to pick one out. If you need any more information, let me know!
Something I did during an "enterprise" day. Pupils advertise a product in French. You could show some ads in French first (vet them before you do!!). I've deliberately chosen the (silly!) products as they'll take ages to choose their own if not! If you can't film the ads, just "perform" them for the class. Make sure they all have a grid to fill in as they watch so they're not just sitting around!
Easter booklets for Years 7-11
Pâques
This is a selection of booklets ranging from basic French Easter vocabulary matching, colouring and puzzles to higher level reading tasks further up the year groups. Each one has an accompanying answer booklet. Each booklet is usable as a stand-alone document for Easter activities. Alternatively, it could supplement your learning on Pâques.
You can use each of the sheets independently as needed within your lessons or print as an A4 booklet ready for your learners to work through. The booklet begins with a cover page to colour in to help settle your group. In-built differentiation or challenge working through the Easter booklet means that all children should be able to access the learning independently, allowing you to help those who most need it. It would therefore also work well as a cover lesson.
I would recommend black and white copies be lightened slightly as the coloured boxes can make the text a little harder to read than in colour.

A week’s worth of lessons to accompany the third unit of Viva 2. Fully interactive and to run alongside to consolidate or independently of, if you’re short of resources, the textbook. Based on three lessons of fifty minutes each. The date in Spanish within the powerpoint should change automatically (use google or a tech whizz if you need help if your machine won’t do it!).
